Jack's birthday is today.
My boy has been gone 4 and 1/2 months. Weird....it feels like 4 and 1/2 seconds. Truly. It feels like seconds of grief, oceans of tears, and I love this feeling. It must never go away. I have no want for this intense emptiness to leave. Is there anyone who knows the feeling?
His face is the one I see on my computer wallpaper, it is the last photo I took of him.
His face, that unique *Jack* face....I can still look at his photos, and feel him. I mean, freaking feel him butting up against my leg. I can see him, I can feel his breath on my neck where he slept all crooked up to get the draft from the open window, and to keep me within his paw reach.
I see him running through the bull rushes like a maniac, I see him sitting beside me, laying beside me, I see his oh sooo perfect face lifting up for a facial massage. I feel his breath.
I have a *blankie* of his I haven't washed yet. ( he was cremated with his favorite....and oh!....he was a very macho dog and would abhor the word *blankie* ) and is up on a top shelf. Sooometimes, I grab it and suck in the smell of him.
My boy is still an addiction.
K. and I went on a spontaneous road trip today after some appt.'s out of town. We couldn't bring Watcher and Frankie, because Watcher has proven to me, twice, that he is able to open a locked inside car door. ( and I learned that the first time was not a fluke ) And because I have not yet bought a car barrier, they had to stay home.
Our first stop was to a new ( ish ) outdoor garden decor shop. Oh my gawd, my mouth remained open for the entire 1 hour visit. Some absolutely stunning pieces, made from bronze, or granite, or ? It appears the website is under construction, but the addy is New Country Decor It is in Bridal Falls, B.C.

And omg.....I am in love with this fountain!

Kelsey and I went on a short road trip to Rhododendron Flats inside Manning Park this evening.
We went a few weeks ago hoping that they would be flowering, but alas, it's been wicked cold up there with hardly any growing sun. So since we have had a few beautiful days lately, we thought they might be flowering a little now.
And they were. But just starting to open, so we'll go back in 2 weeks and see the progression then.

A photo of Kelsey and a Rhodo, to give you an idea of the height of some of them. The Rhodo's ranged in height from 2 feet to at least 12. 
And lastly, a photo of an every day shitter in a B.C, provincial park. A *person*, who shall remain nameless, asked me to take photos of the shitters in the parks I go to. What a freak.
Hmmmm, what is she doing with all the photos?? An expose perhaps? Or, writing a coffee table book entitled "Shitters Of The BC Campgrounds"? *shrug*

I owe a big debt of gratitude to my much loved friend Jo. She lives near where Ticket is, and is tending to the spay. And is also keeping Ticket in her home, where she will learn about canine socialization, household noises, and just learning to adapt to living inside a home.
And I also, of course, owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to Ticket's breeder. Know that she will be adored, loved, and tended to gently and kindly all the days of her life. Thanks for entrusting to me, this oh so special gift.
