Wind Chimes. Or not?

Watcher, Frank, Ticket and I went up the mountain a bit to a spot by the Coquihalla River yesterday afternoon where we normally just go in the warmer months. And the reason why is because that river is fucking freezing. It's all the snow run offs. *BRRRRR*

We went today because I was told there is a huge run of Steelhead ( what an interesting fish! ) and I was hoping to take some snazzy photos of them. ( did I just say "snazzy" out loud? geeez, I don't even remember the last time I heard, never mind *said* that word! )

But we also went because the dogs truly love it there, lots and lots and lots of new smells, ( big and small forest critters ) wide open spaces to romp and wrestle, and fresh water to drink and wade in. Although....hmmmm, almost anywhere we go around here, those things are happening. That's what life is like when you live nestled in between mountains and rivers.

First thing I saw when I stepped out of the van was this wild and wacky Wind Chime hanging from a branch. ( or is it just some wild and wacky ornament? ) Very cool! Take a look at the chimes...a fork? a washer? a piece of driftwood? And other stuff. How cool is that? It has inspired me to make a wacky and wild Wind Chime! ( you know to click on the photos to make them larger, right? Okay, okay, calm down. So *you* knew, but others, like my Mom, do not know. Just checkin'! )

Frank brought his pogo stick, and boinged every time I tossed a stick. Ready Frank?

BOING!

Awwwww, someday I'll get one of his face in the frame. He does the most freakish face contortions as he boings up. ( boing is my new favorite word....can you tell?)

Then it's an errrrrrch! after I toss it when he reaches the waters edge.

Frankie is a total wuss when it comes to water. He has swam twice in his whole life ( he's 2 now ), and his second summer, this last summer, was the first time he went past his delicate little ankles. Second, as I said earlier, this river is fucking freezing cold, especially this time of Fall. I'd be errrrching! too.

If my buddies could talk, I bet I would blush with all the potty mouth remarks. Well....no. I'd probably giggle. I look at Ticket in this next photo ( my honeypie in the back ) and just know she is saying something like, "why is my bitch holding that stick over her head? throw the fucking thing already! "

Ticket asking nicely for me to toss the stick

That didn't work. Try begging!

Score!
But the coldness doesn't stop Ticket! This girl is the toughest chick I know! ( did I tell you that she made Watcher her bitch?? Ha! ) Oh, and check out Frank here. Doesn't want to even get his tootsies the slightest bit wet.

And now, because wet dogs are....well....wet, which makes me wet ( and cold, 'cause remember about where this river water comes from ? ) , we must RUN and shake off the wet!

Ticket in the background of this next photo makes me wish I was alongside her. Nice stretch out there Ticket!

3 amigos leaving....

3 amigos being good pups to a *here* . ( recall is extremely important in this area. bears and cougars and cubs/kits, oh my! )

Gorgeous river, awesome mountains. And some dick figures this place is the best place to burn a TV? and some tires. Now, I ask you, WTF? These are the times and opportunities that I want to be smack dab, right there, seeing this complete idiot doing this. Great photo op for proof, to nail him with something. At the very least to have his nasty face plastered on the internet for evermore.

I didn't see any Steelhead, but they're in there somewhere!

Trees bleed. See the nail where someone stabbed it? A 100% healthy tree.

Trees bleed sap. That's the lifeblood flowing out. Not nice. Go learn how to pitch ( and no pun intended ) a tent without destroying what you came out to be surrounded by. Assholes.

Naked Horses

Shouldn't they have rain sheets on? The horses we had as kids always had protective sheets on....for the dampness of rain, and the cold of snow. These 2 huge beauties had no cover to get out of the rain, ,no coats, just standing in a huge field.

Eagles don't seem to care. A friend phoned me and said "get your ass over here, there are 50 or so Eagles!!" Just a mere 5minutes away so, I shoved my feet into gumboots and arrived to find only one lone straggler.

Then took a few pictures of the lake....misty misty morning

I'm taking the dogs out to the same lake today for a run, and if they are stupid brave enough to go for a swim, maybe some photos later!

Hope you all enjoy your day!

Oh lordy, I've been tagged.

I've been tagged by the really cool chick over at el Vigilante. Even the title of her blog is cool!

I failed on my last tag, which was Halloween themed. I was suppose to find something ghostly in one of my photos, and I couldn't. *hanging head in shame * The rules of this meme are super easy. I can not fail!

1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Here are six random things about me (that you may not know) :

1.) I spent 2 hours with Santana when I was 16. Me ogling, they living. Carlos strummed a guitar!! *giggling like I did waaaay back then *

2.) Ferrets, and the like, fucking creep me out bad. ( And squirrels are rats with bushy tails! )

3.) I have German Shepherd Dog collections of books, art and fine pieces that would make some in the GSD world drool.

4.) No where in my wardrobe will a dress or skirt be found.

5.) I would love to be owned by Kuvasz.

6.) I secretly am in love with Johnny Depp, Robert Duvall, and the hunky piece of eye candy I saw crossing the street last night.

There! I did it! I did not fail! I rock! ( k, the "I Rock" was a bit much.... )

I am gonna' tag Janice at Hearts On Noses
Violet at Lady Greenthumb's garden
Ms L at Those Weird Homeschoolers
Kelly ( my son ) at Netnerd
and Joan at Dogkisser's Sweet Dumpster Finds

Colleens Big Adventure

Went into Abbotsford to shop at the dreaded Costco for the few items I buy in bulk. Kirkland dog kibble ( excellent kibble for my crew, and hordes of other GSD's I know ), toothpaste, hand soap, laundry detergent, blah blah blah. You get the drill.

I am one who seriously despises shopping. I hate it. I wish I could send in a clone for personal shopping, and a slave maid for other droll things.

A maid, no! a butler, who rocked at making peach daiquiris. Yah, that's what I want.

The best part of any journey outside of Hope is the opportunity to take photos. So, here was my adventure yesterday....

This guy was 2 cars ahead of me in a line up at Tim Horton's. I don't know him, but I bet we would become fast friends. Anyone who drives around in a lime green Dodge Ram is beyond okay in my books.

Malvina Reynolds wrote a song that speaks volumes today, and for evermore. Here she is singing the song "Little Boxes", that the show "Weeds" brought to everyones attention again. All the Little Boxes of houses creeping up the hillside are on the outskirts of Abbotsford.

Starlings

Adult and baby swans. ( or for you word junkies, cygnets )

I pissed them off

It's "Burn All Your Crap" week. Just disgusting. Most of this is tree debris, on a HUGE acreage....couldn't they just pile it all in a corner and let it rot? No, they have to assist in worsening the environment.

Look at this long trail of pollution, from the one fire above. There were 20-25 in the 1.5 hour stretch.

On the way home, this hawk settled on a wire over an off ramp. And thankfully stayed there while I pulled over and took its photo

Frank Sucks - Part Two

Frank Sucks...here is the original post that keeps fans of Frank visiting:

Frank Sucks

There are a lot of fans of Frank out there in cyberworld.

But why not? He's adorable, sweetly affectionate, and loves his "Mum"!

But....ahem....these are not fans of my sweet boy, these are some muthafuckas who want to see someone named Frank sucking.

( It's sooo odd looking at the search words that people came to arrive at this blog! )

Now, I believe to each his own, 100% completely. I do not give a rats ass what someone does to get thier rocks off. Live and let live and all that jazz.

But to arrive here, looking for Frank? sucking? *shudder* You got the wrong site dudes and dudettes.

To all you wankers...go away.

Edited to add: Shit! Now that I posted a "Frank Sucks - Part Two" will I get even more freaks?

Ignorance is Stupid

I was over at a good friends house the other day, very much enjoying her and her young daughter's company. We were discussing the rain, and how it fell sideways and then back the other direction. Then the child said, "It's a very pretty thing, that rain." We all agreed.

And it is. It is a beautiful bountiful thing.

My friends friend came by and sat with us a short time later. My friend left the room for a few minutes and I filled the silence with "Did you watch the election results?"

She asked "What election results?" ( this was one day after Senator Obama was voted in as President-Elect )

I was thrown off. I sputtered "the U.S. election".

She said ( and I fucking kid you not ) "the U.S. had an election? what kind of election?"

I was floored. No, I was stunned.

Then, in the back recesses of her mind, she remembered, and said "oh, yah " She asked who won ( picture me wanting to reach out and smack her ) I said Mr. Obama.

She said "ohhhh, the black dude right?" ( I am smacking her once more)

I said, "the Democrat won".

She looked very confused. Poor poor pitiful thing.

My friend came back out at that moment and looked surprised that her friend had no clue as to the previous days events.

Her friend said that she didn't pay attention to politics. Also that she had never voted in a Canadian election.

I was floored, and stunned for the second time in 10 minutes.

My friend and I sideways glanced at each other, and my friend asked her friend, "You've never voted? Why?"

She said "It doesn't interest me". I said," wow, I know of only one other person like you". She shuffled in her chair and looked uncomfortable. Good...you should be uncomfortable about such an ignorant thing I was thinking.

How the hell do people get like that? What is NOT interesting about how political parties are shaping our, her future? How the hell can one not be interested??

I don't understand that ridiculously stupid attitude.

We're having an election for Mayor and Council of my little berg in the next bit...of which she has zero interest.

And here's a funny Jo sent me today. I laughed my ass off. It's exactly the way I felt at my friends the other day.

Firefighter Beats Puppy To Death

Canine Murderer

Canine Murderer- Another report

A video from Last Chance For Animals below.

6months old. A puppy. Never stood a chance.

And what's with the witness? I don't understand how anyone can stand there and witness this bullshit and not even attempt to stop it.

What the fuck is wrong with people??

Sick days, Rain...and more rain.

What I should have been doing:

What I have been doing:

Some sort of bug came around and threw me down. Stomach Flu? I don't know, but it kicked my ass! Feeling better now...better than yesterday anyway.

My poor neglected dogs. All they've had for exercise is the yard. On the second day of being ill I just left the back door open for them. It's been cold, and if it wasn't for the dogs making sure I was kept warm, I would have froze my nuts off. ( I don't have *nuts* but y'all know what I mean )

I was dreaming that someone had encased me in a sausage wrap. From head to toes. I was struggling, I couldn't move! My arms and legs were pinned to my sides, I could barely move my head...and breathing was close to impossible.

Then, I woke up.

While I was sleeping, all 3 of the dogs had positioned themselves on the bed, so that I had become the meat inside the sausage. Sort of like this:

But without the extra baggage of the extra human. *snicker snicker*

After I had struggled free, made a cuppa, I wondered how the fuck Frankie was allowed on my bed. Watcher is the big boss here ( behind me of course ),and always tells Frankie in terms Frankie understands to bugger off...as in the photo below...

Ticket has nooo problems with Watcher getting bossy with her. Watcher became her *bitch*, 3 days after she came home to us.

I don't know the whys or hows of Frankie being *allowed* on the bed while I was ill, but it's all back to normal now. Watcher baring his teeth if Frank looks at the bed, and Ticket jumping up and down on the bed as she pleases.

I am soooo done with this rain we've been deluged with. Apparently it is going to rain for 8 more months....or maybe it's 8 days.

Oh! And while I was in a stupor....someone decapitated a Bunny!

Kevin, my brother, lives in Winterpeg, Winnipeg Manitoba. Is it snowing there yet Kevin? Can you do this yet?
