Poor poor Watcher. He has had an extremely stressful 2.5 days.
We arrived at Saints very early Monday morning and. strolled around the bottom of the shop so they could have an idea of the layout. Then came the moment I knew there was going to be a problem with...the 14 stairs up to our suite.
Lo and behold Ticket charged up the stairs and down like a trooper. Watcher,on the other hand, refused to move up from the 3rd step. I tried raw rib bones, chicken breast bone and canned dog food. Nada. He whined all night down stairs...poor baby!
Last night I tried Tripe, I figured if he didn't come up with that in front of his face,he wouldn't for a longtime, if ever. He got all the way 3rd from top step and turned and cautiously made his way back down. DOLT!!
I even managed to get Henry up 4 steps with help! I looked at Watcher and said,"look buddy....even a blind puppy can do it!" The shame of that didn't even work!
Carol suggested we close up the open spaces between steps, insert spindles/slats/something on the edges that weren't against the wall. Lots of work, but whatever it takes to get the boy upstairs!
This afternoon I was playing with Henry and had the door shut. I heard Ticket whining on the other side, opened the door and........HOLY SHIT!! There was Watcher, sitting beside Ticket on the top step. He strolled in all proud of himself, found the bed and promptly fell asleep. YAY!!!
NOW I feel at home with all my dogs with me.
Emily
Cleo
Helga, a volunteer, with a few of the Feline Leukemia loves.
I took some nice photos of my guys and a couple videos I'll share tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great night!
Percy was just a wee babe, a couple days old when he came to live at Saints. Here's a couple of photos from March 20th, 2007.

The following photo of Percy was last week. Handsome young steer!
Saints is having thier annual fundraiser "Wishes For Whiskers" soon and each table is hosted by an animal. The following link will take you Percy's story.
Percy on Parenting…Another photo taken in 2007 of Carl, an Alpaca. He looks pissed!
I suppose he was warning me to stay away from his sheep.
Well, I'll tell ya'....it's getting brutal waking at 5:30, walking dogs, feeding dogs, then driving 1.5 hours to Saints. Then driving home, walking dogs, feeding dogs, playing with dogs, then bedtime by 10ish.
Next Monday I and my dogs are going to start staying at Saints Mon. to Fri., then going home on the weekends. There's a sweet little suite in a HUGE shop there, it's perfect.
This is Henry. He's an 11 week old German Shepherd pup. Blinded from birth. He's my new partner. I wuv Henry!

Started new employment today.
It's at S.A.I.N.T.S . I will be tending to the needs of different animal species....can you feel my JOY?
I was employed there 3ish years ago...and am now there again...with the biggest shit eating grin!
It's hard to explain the pleasure you get cleaning after, loving up, tending to animals others have dumped/sent to slaughter.
SAINTS is a true blue heaven on earth for those delightful full of life souls. And I am honored, seriously honored to be a part of it.
Thank you Carol, for the re-hire!!
Today was interesting. Watched a 3 week old calf, Emily, have hernia surgery and her wee baby horns removed. Cleaned stalls...gawd I love the aroma of horse/cow/goat/sheep/Llama poop and shavings! Watered and fed some ducks and chickens...rubbed some dog and cat bellies, tomorrow can only get better!
S.A.I.N.T.S is located about an hour and a half away, in a really nice little city called Mission. It has a Westminster Abbey! Lots of rivers, lakes, logging roads...much like where we are now, in Hope. As soon as I find the proper digs, I'll be moving there. I lived there 10 or so years ago,and absolutely loved it.
So, how's that for an update Colleen from Arizona! *grinning at Colleen*
Tomorrow, photos of lottsa' Saints!
