Wet Dirty Dog Haiku

There's no such thing as *it's too wet to walk* in any of my dog's brains. Oh, don't get me wrong, they noticeably cringe when the wicked spiteful painful rain touches them, but a walk is a walk is a walk dammit!

Yesterday, after our wetwetwetwet stroll I was inspired to pen a couple of Haiku's.

Rain my enemy,
mixed with soil you cause anguish
to my cleanish floors.

Dirty dogs don't care,
when they jump with glee upon
stupid Mum wearing white.

Today the skies and atmosphere are noticeably atypical for this time of year. I do believe I will take the plastic weather stripping off  a few of the windows! It will be nice to see the world clearer!

And while the following photo has absolutely nothing  to do with this post, I thought I'd toss it in because dammit, it's funny! We all need more chuckles I'm thinking. Enjoy, and click on it to enlarge! ( thanks Jo! )

3 Dog Night

1 human crawls into bedding on queen size bed and moves around til a perfect spot to sleep is found. Ahhhhh, nice.  1st large German Shepherd deftly leaps up and pastes himself onto bottom half of suddenly smaller queen size bed. Human adjusts her body to accommodate.

2nd large German Shepherd clumsily climbs up, steps on human and 1st dog. Both grumble at him. He makes his way  to the top of the bed, circles 17,000 times, then throws himself down and expertly land his top half on middle of human torso. Human musters up the strength of a mosquito and fruitlessly pushes at now dead to the world dog.

Lowly human sighs, tucks blankets from edge of bed around her so she can still stay on bed. and is thankful this nightly ritual is over. To sleep, and perchance to dream, she closes her eyes.

But lowly human is not to sleep, perchance to dream because Ticket has entered the bedroom, sat down directly in front of lowly humans face and is esp'ing that she would adore to lay in the 4 inch square spot smack dab in the middle of her brothers.

"Oh for f**k sakes" the lowly human moans....which Ticket mistakes for "come up my lovely darling girl, plenty of room!".

Ticket nimbly leaps up and makes the rounds giving everyone face kisses, then plunks her body down into the 4 inch square area, Everyone groans and grumbles.

4 large beings shifted and shuffled all night long till the youngest said ( 3.5 measly hours later ) that if he didn't get out to pee NOW he would christen the chair.

Lowly, very tired and cranky human opens the damn door, lets dogs out to water the yard. She watches the dogs from the window, and smiles.

She sees how each of them, even in this small yard, never lets the other 2 out of their sight. When one is momentarily hidden behind one of the giant Cottonwood trees, the other 2 watch till they are visible. Or in Henry's case, when he feels the energy/scents them. They are 3, but they are one.

She's also smiling because she is day dreaming about the single bed she's buying soon. Which won't fit 4 large bodies. Only one...hers. Maybe then the plush and comfy beds she bought for the dogs will be used for the purpose intended. Or not.

Okayokayokay, probably not.

I might as well just line the bedroom floor with mattresses.

"Her life was okay. Sometimes she wished she were sleeping with the right man instead of with her dog, but at least she knew she wasn't sleeping with the wrong dog." Judith Callas

And because someone sent me this and it made me laugh, I'll pass it along...enjoy!

And so a new year begins....

At a cost of a million and a half dollars, London put on a fireworks display that rocked the world.

I wish you all the very best of whatever it is you long for in 2011!

Christmas Joy...and Henry Gets a Beating.

Yesterday was fantastic! Kelly and Sumeet came and we feasted, laughed and joked.

I was given my favorite gift...books! 3 to do with dogs ( yay! ) and one that I've wanted to read since it came out, "Life". It's the Keith Richards autobiography. Hardcover, 547 pages, and if I didn't have the dogs to deal with I could probably finish it in one day. I read the first chapter first thing this morning. Who knew Keith Richards was such a naughty boy!  *snort guffaw*

The dogs were all very well behaved while they eye balled us feasting. Ticket was the only one that had to be told to "out" 3 times. One more time than is normal for Miss Priss.

They feasted too though. And after, they did what a lot of beings do after a great meal....

About 2 a.m. I thought I'd quickly take a bag of garbage outside. I stepped out, shut the door and heard Henry scrape his paws down the inside of it.

Oh wait. Here's a photo of the door lock when it's unlocked, as i left it.

And here's an inside photo of the air vent/sunroof I had to climb through to get back inside.

I had to climb through because when Henry scraped his feet down the door, he popped the lock shut. *shakes fist at Henry* See the bastard locked below.

You know that music theme before horrible wicked things happen? That dum de dum dum duuuum!! I heard that sound. And it frightened me.

I stood on the step looking at the door. Willing it to unlock by itself. No luck. Then Henry realized I was standing right there and proceeded to rake his paws up and down the door. Idiotically, I wondered if he actually might accidentally flip the lock back down. No luck. ( but not 100% idiotically, after all, Watcher locked me out of the van one day and unlocked it while the tow truck was coming down the road to break into it. )

So, I'm thinking, what to do, what to do?? A t-shirt, jeans, slippers and it's pissing outside. I look around for something to jimmy the door open with. Nothing but a shovel. Ummm no. So I walk around the trailer looking for the weak spots. Windows....could have probably done that if they weren't shut tight on the inside. Then I remembered I had left the vent in the kitchen open a crack.

I very bravely ( I say bravely because if I'm higher than a foot off the ground it freaks the shits outta' me ) I climbed on top of the trailer, lifted the air vent, and gingerly climbed down on the counter, then onto the floor.

And vowed to never leave without the door key.

And then beat Henry within an inch of his life.

Good Morning!

If you celebrate today with all the usual stuff, Merry Christmas!

If not, then have a great day!

Kelly and Sumeet will be over soon to help me and the dogs feast, but in the meantime I will be playing this song again and again and again. I hope it reaches the ears of the snow god/s and he/she takes pity upon me and blows me a big ass blizzard!! ( but not until Kelly and Sumeet get here...k, thanks )
