Barn Yard Fun!
Emily...who we are trying to wean. First task in the a.m. is to feed her. She sees me and the bottle and Moooos. Never mind that, she KNOWS her 8 am and 4 pm feedings and watches for the bottle giver. It's a tricky thing to get her over to her stall whilst holding a bottle of milk!
Gimmeeee mah miiiiilk!!

Milk does a cow body good!

Sparkle and Czar..a sweet pony Sparkle is, and Czar is new but knows who is cool..

Work, Work, Work...
A few reasons why my job ( omg...I get paid to be around critters!!! ) is the best in the world.
Suzie...who is not nearly as evil as she looks in this photo

Squirt...a puppy mill survivor...who has personality plus!!! and loves to be the ankle biter, lovingly.

Donny...a deaf Cocker, who worries me because of sudden body trembling...a very very soft sweet dog.

Lucky...blind Golden Retriever. She had become an inconvenience to her previous people. Well, she totally matters here.

Lucas...a big ole wonderful dog. Collar issues ( someone used his collar to grab and punish..like a LOT of the dogs here ), but, he is never grabbed here, nor punished. Because he does no wrong. He's a great dog...looking for a home like all the others.

The dogs above are but a few of the reasons why I am loving my job. Another of the reasons is Emily, the calf. We are trying to wean her by watering down her bottles and she is one unhappy baby. She even goes as far as to try and suckle milk from Joy, who has no milk! But Joy is so sweet she stands there for a couple of minutes until Emily realizes she is dry.

I've been working outside with the farm animals this week, so get ready for some more photos of more honey-pies!

Henry after an ( obviously ) exhausting walk....
A couple weeks back we all went for a quick walk/pee break off the highway onto a silent houseless back road. We had spent the day traveling in total 86 miles and visiting 2 different households, both which contained other dogs. It was a wonderful socializing experience for Henry and a great day checking in with friends.
Problem is, none of my dogs sleep in the Van while travelling. None. They are all wide awake and alert. Mix 9 hours of wide awake time, 2 different sets of dogs, LOTS of fun!!!!!, and a 5 month old puppy. After the pee break on the way home....

Hey Henry??? You okay???
Seriously Henry, you okay???
What?
No, really...WHAT??
Random Photo Day

One morning a few years ago, I woke to the above. It seems through the night Watcher and a feather duster got into a gigantic fight. Watcher won.

My soul sister Jo and I at a Schutzhund trial. A fun day...met a few gorgeous dogs but best of all I was able to hang with Jo for a few hours.
A white Pigeon! Taken in Hope this past summer.

Frankie is a tired boy. And my buddy.
Not sure what Ticket was looking at, but she's definitely eyeballin' something!
Henry caught napping in the shower stall.
Ticket caught napping on the sofa.

Thanksgiving
It was a wonderful evening spent with Kelly, ( whom I didn't take any pictures of...what a bad Mommy!! ) Sumeet

my niece Amanda,

and my *grand cats* Sal and Sam

And some excellent eats. The entire meal was beyond delicious.
Sumeet spent the day sweating over a hot stove making this fabulous bird:

Which Kelly carved with as much experience as Julia Child herself!

Sumeet and Amanda made these cute little individual pumpkin cheesecakes!

Amanda was beyond stunned when I told her I had never tried cheesecake. Ha!, ya' should have seen her face! And after eating one of them, I was converted. All I thought about while driving home was the many different flavors of cheesecake out there in the world.....*snarf snarf*
It's sooo nice to be back blogging! I have this shiny new keyboard and wireless set up...I love technology. :))
Going to upload some videos of the dogs running in the fields, occasionally stopping to eat/roll in horse/cow/sheep/goat poop. ( Oh yum. ) They LOVE living here. I'll see ya' in a bit!
