Has spring REALLY sprung?

The last post I made was a day of lightness and sunshine. Flowers were sprouting up! Spring, I thought, just might really be here!

But alas, it was not meant to stay. The following day and night it snowed, not a lot, but enough so that a few inch layer of snow blanketed the ground. It left almost abruptly as it came, because today the sun is again shining and it is bright outside.

Some Hyacinth

Tulips

Chives ( or Day Lilies...I think the Lilies. I should have yanked the chives before I planted the damn Lilies )

But poor old Heckle didn't fare too well through the winter. This just might be his last season amongst us all. * le sigh *

How to get their attention? Why a coveted squeakie basically sitting on top of the camera.

Frank! *squeaksqueaksqueak*

Ticket! Who's ball is this? ( she barked like a nutcase right after I took this )

Watcher!! Ball!!!

Then I was a bitch and didn't throw it for anyone in particular.

Ticket is faster than a speeding bullet..zoooooom!! and Watcher has the stride and legs, and well, Frankie is the smallest and slowest AND submissive to Watcher, so he is never the one to reach it first. The only time he's first is when I take him out on solo walks.( k, altogether now...."awww pooor Frankie!" )

Frank walks away from them muttering expletives....

And tada! The winner! Chicks rule!

And a big stress yawn from Watcher. Whatsa' matta' big boy...can't take it when a girl wins?

All in all it was a very good day. I readied the veggie beds for planting, raked up fallen twigs, tossed a lot of pine and fir cones into the fire pit ( cones are excellent fire starters,,,and bonus!, some nice colors when flaming! ), and goofed around with the dogs. Oh, and found 17 katrillion balls, stuffies, and squeakies under my bed. They were wrapped around 336 pounds of dog hair dust bunnies. Oh, joy.

Looks like a beautiful day up there! That close up of Frank is awesome - I can see how those eyes melt you. Is Ticket your mischief maker? She seems to have that look about her.
Hope you have another great day! PS - Thanks for commenting on some of my photos.

It all looks so beautiful. You really are so fortunate to have such lovely surroundings and your three best friends to share it with.

Hoping you have a great weekend.

Colleen, Ticket is INDEED the mischief maker! She's the one who starts all the fun around here. She's also the more intelligent, the sweetest, and kindest one of them all.

Snow, don't I know it! I've been looking at Google Earth, and this summer I want to rent a 4X4 and take one of the zillions of logging roads and go up and over one of the mountains to camp for a couple of days. No way would my wimpy van make that trek!

Thanks for your comments ladies!

Allis fine Colleen. ( you're sweet! )

I've been spending sometime learning Elements and trying hard to finish 2 novels I started a bit ago.

It's been such lousy rainy weather here even the dogs are sick of it. On the last 2 days walks in the rain they all looked right pissed off. Tomorrow we're going to a heavily forested area so hopefully the canopy of trees will save us from drowning!!
