Good days

and not so good days. I wish they were all good, especially for the animals.

Jack had a couple of pretty down days last week, and d
uring the worst of it I booked a euth for the Monday that just passed. Well he perked right up, so GOOOOODBYE MONDAY!!!

Kelly and Sumeet came out to visit him on Saturday. And brought him a shitload of his most favorite treat, the crappy processed stuff. He LOVED the visit and of course the treats! A helluva lot of drooling went on. :))

Sunday was so-so for him. We spent alot of time cuddling.

Monday morning, just after his new regime of a scrambled egg breakfast, he initiated a soccer game with me!

So, we played for a bit indoors.....because it was raining....and Jack is a pussy for the rain.

And then a bit more....

( The blankets are littered all over because the bloody floor is cold!! And when Jack lays down I want him comfy and warm. )

A good time, right Jack!

Yesterday we had another game of soccer and lots of sniffing and strolling in the yard and garden. He snarfed back his dinner and all is well! *grin*

Today, we went for a drive and on one of his 2 favorite walks. I'm limiting him to the flat one because his back legs were arthritic to begin with, and they are slowly crashing apart. But, he trotted today!

The trotting along for a bit made my heart smile. When he was a young buck he was racing through tall reeds, over the fields, jumping over and on things. Joy! Joy! Joy! Then his frickin' body said "slow down, you're middle aged". So, he ran less and trotted more. Then his body AND his legs said "if you don't stop trotting, we'll crash". So, he plodded. So you can see why the trotting today made me almost break into song.

I've read that dying people and animals usually have one last good time before the bad time sets in. Is this what is happening? I hope not but If so, I am loving it. To see him totally happy in these instances of the past few days, has been a gift.
